EMP, Electro Magnetic Particle Through Bore Clutches
MEROBEL`s EMP series are mostly dedicated to the applications where slipping speed and slipping torque need to be controlled in an independent way.
Built from the addition of slip ring and brushes to the EMP brakes, this range of devices is offering two different power dissipation levels for each size (without or with cooling fins).
The standard range offers tailored solutions for every need from 0.1 Nm up to 1000Nm with 10 sizes.
Specifically designed to be easily installed on Converting, Printing, Wire & cable, and Packaging machines, these Clutches are based on the same proven design as the EMP through bore brakes (by adding slip rings and brushes).
In addition to being a cost effective solution for variable torque transmission needs, Clutches are dedicated to the applications where speed and torque need to be independently controlled
| Supplier Brand | Merobel |
|---|---|
| Product Types | Clutch, Electric Magnetic Particle Clutch, EMP Clutch |
| Part Numbers | ERAT 2002, ME330230-00 |
| EMP Technology | The EMP powder reacts to the variation of a magnetic field generated by an electromagnetic coil, Varying the powder's "viscosity" leads to the control of the torque transmission between the primary and the secondary rotors, When the secondary rotor is fixed to the equipment frame the device is acting as a brake otherwise it's acting as a clutch. |
| Specifications | Torque Nm: 200, Power Dissipation (W): 700 At 0 RPM. 1900 At 1000 RPM. 2500 At 1500 RPM., Weight Kg: 31 |
| Power & Control | DGT300+ Controller, DIN Powerblock |
| The Brand | Merobel, a division of the REDEX Group, is a leader in EMP brake and clutch technology for wire and cable, web tension control, and variable-torque test rigs. All of their products are designed and built in Putnam, Connecticut. With a full in-house machine shop, assembly, engineering, and inspection departments, they are fully equipped for your project whether it is an off-the-shelf brake, or a fully automated 100-position payoff stand. |
